Our Galaxians programme is designed for later-level children and is curated so that greater depth and diversity in reading, analyzing, writing and speech articulation is achieved for early primary school level learners. Our Galaxians will progress through activities that are constantly becoming more challenging, encompassing sufficient review and reinforcement to increase long-term learning abilities. At this level, clear goals and directions are defined—enabling finesse to be successfully administered to our Explorers.
We've also designed the Galaxians programme with personalized content to guide our students achieve mastery levels in reading, spelling, writing and verbal expression. We strive to establish life-long essential literacy skills using a more mature format that is both entertaining and educational at the same time.

Critical Thinking (Advanced)
Critical thinking at the Galaxians level involves developing the ability to think clearly and rationally in order to understand logical connections between events and ideas. We engage our Explorers in ever-deeper activities of reflection and independent thought and we encourage them to become active stakeholders rather than passive recipients of information. For example: by discussing and evaluating the effects of Global Warming, we steer them to think of creative solutions of their own. Language building and critical thinking grow hand-in-hand and cultivate each other’s development.
-
Ideation and Logical Sequencing
Ideation, or idea generation, is a fundamental component of our Galaxians programme. From the age of 7 onwards, children have developed enough maturity for us to guide them to visualize connections in unlike things and become capable to understand metaphors—two critical components in critical thinking. In addition to this, we help children garner logical sequencing skills to arrange their ideas, interpretations, opinions and expressions in a certain order. Think of it as: to create an art masterpiece, we must first learn which paint component should sequentially come before the next—gradually unveiling the core narrative.
-
Complex Sentence Creation
A complementary attribute that develops as a result of strong critical thinking and logical sequencing skills with our Galaxians is complex sentence creation knowledge. A child’s oral language and specifically, listening comprehension abilities are a major determinant of reading comprehension in the formal primary school levels. We place profound emphasis on sentence-level components—both reading and writing—with our Explorers, progressively boosting their capability to grasp sentence complexities.

Advanced Writing Skills
At the Galaxians level, we teach students to identify simple, compound and complex sentences as they read or as sentences are read to them. Then, we guide them to identify the number of potential ideas contained within those modelled sentences from what they read. To further advance their writing skills, we use worksheets with feature clauses and combine sentence work games into our programme.
-
Cloze Passage (Word Orders)
Cloze Passage is a common feature in the primary school level English assessments. With Cloze Passages, words are omitted from a passage and students are required to fill in the blanks. The range for omitting words depends on the expected reading ability and what kind of skills are to be assessed. Progressively in later levels, more specific skills such as defined vocabulary words are omitted. This provides valuable literacy performance markers to teachers to determine where students stand in their English language. Our students easily excel in this common primary school component—by teaching them to think analytically and to understand the surrounding text around what they're reading.

Similes
We include loads of entertaining Similes examples and resources to help propel our Explorers to early mastery. Learning Similes provides our Galaxians with an effective tool to make their writing richer and give the reader a more immersive picture of what's being described. The use of similes will also help enrich and create vivid imaginations in their descriptive writing.

'Cause and Effect' Methodology
When children can effectively comprehend the 'Cause and Effect' methodology, they can easily identify relationships between events and characters of relevance. To put it simply, the cause is the why and the effect is the result. The concept of 'cause and effect' are so prevalent in our everyday lives that students are usually quick to pick up on them. In fact, by this phase, they may already display a strong understanding of the concepts in their own reading and writing. Our aim is to offer even broader range of strategies that will help clearly identify the causes and effects that interweave through what they read to propel oral and written expression.
